You are like music to me.

I'm like a moth to your flames.

I can't believe it.

Noo

Well, you shouldn't read the title as a long "No".

"Noo" is actually the stage name of this Vietnamese singer.
I'm quite impressed with this music video.
It's quite good, despite being minimal. It has a great concept, nice execution and really good lighting. Much better than the usual Viet crappy music clips that are so so so widespread nowadays.

By the way, this guy has got to be gay!

Exercise Plan for time wasting sites

You know how facebook, twitter, blah blah blah really waste your time.

How about punishing yourself with some fun exercise every time you visit those sites. They are really simple and effective! Haha.
Here's the website with that simple concept!

Joseph Fiennes

It's nearly 3 am and I'm watching a bunch of shows.

1) Megan Fox's SNL. Hella boring. She's not very funny. Even Kristin Wiig is not very funny. Lorne Michael is gonna fire somebody tonight. SNL, Bring JUSTIN Timberlake back. Please.
2) Eastwick. I watch it because of Rebecca Romjn. Period.
3) Smallville newest episode of newest season. Kinda boring. Bring me back Krintin Kreuk and Michael Rosenbaum.
4) America's Next Top Model Season 1. It's surprisingly good.
5) Flashforward. My first expression was: "OH MY GOODNESS, SHAKESPEARE!" Ok so the guy who played the lead was in "Shakespeare in love" - Joseph Fiennes. I also seeing an Asian man in there too, John Cho. American TVs should employ more Asian actors. But no more Hiro from Heroes please.

Somebody should hire me. I don't know why they should. But I'm just bored.

Haha. When I wake up, I'm gonna study maths. For 12 hours straight.

Bless me!

bad movie

"Another Cinderella Story" is a seriously BAD movie. It's so vapid. It's so lame.

sleepy sleepy sleepyyyy

heyyyyy world!

I don't think anyone read this blog any more. So it seems like I'm monologuing.

Anyway, that's what I've been doing lately. I don't think anyone have the answers to my problems, I can't talk to anyone about that either. So I talk to myself. I hope I don't appear too crazy.

Saturday night I wanted to kill myself. But unlike those times in the past, now I could think clearly. The voice that called out to me "stop" was really apparent. I could still think clearly in times of crisis nowadays. That's a good thing. I don't think I'll ever die due to suicide thoughts. I'm so much better and stronger. I'm letting go of other stupid things and live for myself, as it should always be.

Life is both a mess and a bless for me nowadays. I'm leaning towards "a bless". It's sad that I can't connect my life to that of others around me, with their girlfriends and family and kids and conquers. I have none of that. But I definitely have other things that they won't have in a million years. I have freedom. I have time for myself. I have a way of thinking that seems to be unusual and I celebrate that. I think being different is a curse, but I still find some blessing in it cos if I were the same as them, I think I would be awfully boring.

Take me right now. I'm in the library, with a macbook, e71, microsoft mouse, maths textbook but I'm listening to BYU Vocal Point and blogging and not touching my textbook, at all. In this library there is no one doing the same thing as me. And they are all doing the same thing. I'm so sleepy right now.

Emmy on Sunday wasn't that bad. I think the star of the show was the technology. The moving screens were really spectacular and streamlined and elegant. I'm fond of Neil Patrick Harris but I think he did quite a terrible job. He obviously tried really hard but it was a tad too much. He wasn't that funny, he was Just A Host. Unlike Ellen a few years ago, she was so phenomenal. AND YESH KRISTIN CHENOWETH WAS THE FIRST ONE TO COME ON STAGE AND RECEIVE AN AWARD. I liked the look of Neil when he first came out but when the camera panned down to the suit he was wearing, I was slightly annoyed. Neil is always great in suit but the cut of his white blazer is WAY too long. It just feels oversized. It was so NOT proportional. Everyone should learn how to wear a suit from Justin Timberlake. And why didn't Tina win anything. And I think America must take another look at Kristin Wiig and Amy Poehler. I think they are even more funny than Tina Fey. Tina is funny and SUPER SUPER SUPER smart in her writings and story lines but when it comes to delivering it, Amy and Kristin are the real experts. Amy can twist a line into something SO hysterically funny you will cry your eyes out laughing. And Kristin is such a chameleon, a crazy woman always cracks me up. Kristin is also beautiful.

SO SLEEPY now.
And... I'm out!

British

Today was so crazy at work. A spot was laid off, I was kept, and I had to work extra hard. It was exhausting.

Anyway, I was proud of myself cos I pumped my own tires today. I always feel like I'm not a handy man but I actually am. It didn't feel that bad getting greasy hands and sweating all over. I am actually useful. haha. The four wheels of my car are properly inflated now. Yay.

And about the title of this post, it's about this:

The singing is okay. But I just want to be superficial for once. This guy's face is kind of unreal. It looks plastic, it looks as if he were a doll. Proportions are great. Blue eyes.

Why don't I have that face? Or at least why can't I look like that.

This is just a superficial post.

And... out!

I saw a celebrity

I just had unagi don, a dish that I haven't had in nearly 5 years. It's so good.

Anyway, I'm supposed to work from 11.30 am to 9 pm. But I got bored. I asked a co-worker to cover for me from 3.30 to 6.00 pm so that I can have a break during that time. She was like, "omg you are going out with a girl!" And I was like, yah right! Me? With a girl? At 3.30 pm in the afternoon? Yah right! I am being sarcastic. As you can tell.

Anyway, I went to a sushi place and had my yummy unagi Don. I love how the japs name their dishes, there are so many Dons: donburi, ten don, chicken katsu don, tonkatsu don,... Obviously, Japs love Dons. Ok, yawn, who cares.

After the meal, I went to the library to surf web, and write this blog post right now.

This is the kind of post that just tells you the mundane things that happened to me.

OH MY GOD JOSH GROBAN JUST WALKED BY ME!

Ok that's not true. But I am so bored, so I typed that. HAHAH!

Nothing else to write about!
And... out!

Parks and Recreation premiere

Parks and Recreation is SOOOO funny. Amy Poehler is a genius, her comedic timing is extremely great.

Anyway, this scene cracked me up:

The girl: This is my boyfriend Derek; and this is Derek's boyfriend, Ben.
Leslie: hey, wait, sorry what's this situation?
The girl: what do you mean?
Leslie: How does this work?
The girl: Derek is gay but he's straight for me and he's gay for Ben and Ben is really gay for Derek, and I hate Ben.

It's so funny.

and... out!

a post that cannot be named, chuyện gì đâu không biết đặt tựa là gì

I know, what a brat right!

I forget the point of my story. The point is.

Too perfect.
Thiên đường ăn uống, thiên đường shopping, nhưng mà cái syllabus quá điên. Tự nhiên bắt học Economics. And Calculus. Điên điên điên.

Người như tôi mà nhét số liệu, demand and supply, macroeconomics, integration, oblique, ellipsis, irrational numbers, "unreal" numbers or some similar kind of bullshit, integration, differentiation, implicit, derivatives, logarithmic differentiation, extrema on an interval, concavity... thì chịu sao được.

He he.

I don't really know who I am. I know I love Vietnam, but I don't have its essence. I know I carry a part of Singapore, but I don't love it. I'm staying in the States, I love it, but I don't have the connection with it, yet.

Ok, the point is. Thú vật rất dễ thương. Chúng ta nên thương yêu thú vật. Tránh ăn thịt chó. Ăn thịt chó rất là dã man và tàn bạo.

Bài học rút ra: "Tôi" bị điên!

Bài thơ này thật đẹp, isn't it!

The beauty of motion

another day and Bach

There have been nothing interesting today.

I should really get my tires inflated. It's been a while.

Anyway, in my music class today, I learned about Bach. He's quite a genius really. He wrote 1000+ works, ended up blind, and had 20 kids. Someone laughed at the 20 kids part. And my eyes just widened.

It has been quite a dull day.

Glee last night was great cos Josh Groban was on it. I don't really like the show, it's under-developed for my taste.
And I don't ever know the guy who won America's got talent last night.

And... out...!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I can't believe I haven't watched this movie until now. It's so unique, it's such a treat.

It's a beautiful movie. It's about a man who was born old and wrinkled but grows younger as the years go by. The plot explores love, loss and memory. I think it's a tragedy, but a beautiful and breathtaking one.

It just gets more heart breaking towards the end. And Brad Pitt was amazing in this movie. Superb acting. And the teenage Brad Pitt is out of this world. His teenage face is truly stunning and flawless, I don't know how Hollywood did that. The eyes just exude purity and youth, those haunting, penetrating eyes. I had never noticed Brad Pitt as such a visually stunning man, even after Mr. and Mrs. Smiths.

On that note, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is a match made in heaven.

I don't know if this movie won an Oscar or not, it should.

And ... out!

Tuesday septemter 15

Today my new Dan Brown novel will arrive. Can't wait to read it!

But I have to finish my maths homework!

Sigh!!!!!

sighted as I strut

I saw an angel today.

And my heart panicked.
I hushed it "No! No!"
And I gripped the borders of my mind
Trying to shut my feelings.

Is it so guilty to be blinded by an angel? Just for a moment?

I love music class

I had a really great class this morning.

It was called music appreciation. And it was probably the best 1.5 hours of class time I have ever had.

Music. Yay!!!!

maths class

I'm in my maths class right now, having a break. It's so boring I must take out my E71 to blog. Haha!

Maths really makes my head hurt. I wish i were pretty and hot so that I won't ever have to study maths again. But I'm not, so oh well....

There was something about trapezoid, my teacher doesn't know what a trapezium is.

So in the United States, trapezoid = trapezium. And they don't understand what a trapezium is.

They = my maths teacher!

what am i?

Yesterday was a good day, I received Alex's book and it is great!

Today started with something bad, I was furious about something and I smashed a crystal glass. It shattered into pieces. I feel like such a monster, a disgusting angry young man. I'm so sorry mom and dad. I don't know what I am anymore. I just couldn't take it. It felt like nothing I did was ever enough for anyone.

Anyway, on a lighter note. I felt happy later on.

And there's no way I can tell the world what made me happy.

So I'll stop blogging here.

And I'm out.

What I did on my birthday!

At 6.30 am I went to work.
At 9.00 am I get off from work.

At 11.10 am I went for a movie.
At 12.20 I watched G-Force. It's not bad. But it's boring.

At 3.00 pm I pick-up my cake.

At 6.30 pm I went out for dinner with my parents.

At 10.00 pm I watched a Vietnamese movie with my parents.

And that concluded my 20th birthday.

=D

And I was happy to receive an email from A.

twenty

Hello World, I Am Twenty!

It's been a crazy period for me, the past few months.

I've come to embrace the truth. Something that has enlightened me greatly and will hopefully take away my depression.

I am finally a happy boy.

Mom's cup of orange juice

I opened the fridge to get some water.

I saw a cup of orange juice and it made me sad.

Mom made it for me yesterday. Even though she was running late for work, she managed to find some time to squeeze some oranges for me, and put the juice in a cup. She even filtered it to make sure there was no pulps, cos I hate pulps.

I told her I would drink it after I drank Nestea. And I have forgotten about it until today.

Mom did it with love. I forget about it. I forget to appreciate her love.

I'm sorry Mom.

I love you!

Don

I have deserted this blog for too long.

During this time, a lot has happened. I have been on a roller-coaster ride of emotions. There were disappointments, happiness, elation, surprise, sadness,... all rolled into these past few months.

Well, I still view the world as hostile, but I also view the world as peppered with goodness and hope.

Loneliness still befriend me most of the time. Even though when I am surrounded by friends, I can't help feeling out of place inside. It's really hard to find someone who understands me and thinks the way I think.

I just feel quite lonely. I always feel like something missing. And yet, I don't really know what it is. Maybe this is time I should find someone special? I don't know. Even if I search for that special one, I'm sure no one will be interested. haha.

Anyway, I am embracing life. It's so full of disappointments but I want to live and learn and grow and improve.

Well, can't think of anything else to blog about. HAHAHAHAHAHHA!

Sometimes I laugh and it's not even funny. HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!

today

I went to work today.
At night-ish, a couple tipped me, twice. The guy is so generous and nice.
Oh, I got quite a lot of tip today. Sadly, I'm not allowed to take any of that.
But that's ok. I don't care about tips.

And I have one research paper to finish. A whole novel to read and make notes. All must be done by Tuesday.

It's manageable. But I need to discipline myself to even START doing them.

START START START, DON!!!!!

30 Rock Season 3 Finale

Hey y'all!

So I've just watched 30 ROCK Season 3 Finale and it was amazing.
It was a 30-min show (with commercial) and it has this many people in it:

Tina Fey (love her)
Alex Baldwin (he's funny)
Elvis Costello (don't really know him)
Mary J. Blige (singer, like Queen Latifah)
Sheryl Crow (I know her)
Adam Levine (hot)
Adam Horovitz (don't know this guy)
Sara Bareilles (some singer)
Wyclef Jean (I think he sang hips don't lie with Shakira)
Norah Jones (WOW, my girl)
Talib Kweli (who?)
Michael McDonald (again, who?)
Rhett Miller (who?)
Moby (this guy is bald)
Robert Randolph (santa claus, that's what comes to my mind; cos I suddenly think Rudolf the red nose reindeer; never mind)
Rachael Yamagata (sounds japanese, but I have no idea who that is)
Cyndi Lauper (sounds familiar)

Yah. It's so star studded, it's so funny. I LOVE LIZ LEMON.
WOO HOO.

I'm happy today. I'm going back to work after a 5-day leave to deal with my stress and depression. I think I'm fit again for work.

Bye. Night!

P.S. Some fun facts about kidney:

1) The average adult kidney can process up to three gallons of liquid in a two-hour period.

2) The first successful kidney transplant took place in London, England in 1954.

3) The kidney has a higher blood flow than the brain, liver and heart.

4) Each kidney is about 4.5 inches long.

5) Each kidney weighs approximately four to six ounces.

6) The kidneys of a newborn baby are about three times larger in proportion to other organs.

7) Kidney beans are named after the kidney because they have the same shape.

8) Kidneys primary function is to get rid of the waste in the blood.

9) Kidneys can change blood pressure.

10) Kidneys help in the making of red blood cells.

i should be back

Not writing on this blog is like deserting an old friend, or so I feel.
Anyway, I'm going through a rough patch and I hope things will be fine soon.

What I have done this week:
1. Sleep.
2. Rest.
3. Watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It's awesome.
4. Watched Star Trek. It's awesome. Great music. But it was so loud.

And I have nothing else to blog about.

Oh yah, it's Kris versus Adam, and I think Adam will win, even though I think Kris is cute-er.
Anyway, he's not that cute.

But even if Adam win, I won't bother buying his CDs or download is songs. I don't think he has the voice I would want to listen to in my free time.

He's just better than the rest, but he's not the best.

daisies, farewell

I'm in tears. I feel painful.

As the last few frames of Pushing Daisies, episode 13 rolled past my eyes, bringing with it so much of a romantic love story, redemption, beautiful storyline, superb acting; I know I have only seconds to witness the greatest love story of all, one that have touched me like nothing before.

And the moment Vivian and Lily opened the door and saw Chuck and Ned.
And the moment a little girl's voice knocked on Emerson's door.
And the last image of Olive.
And the flyover through the whole town.

The first touch that waked Chuck.
And the dog that runs over an endless daisies fields.

Magic.

Goodbye, Chuck.
Goodbye, Olive.
Goodbye Vivian and Lily.
Goodbye, Emerson.

And goodbye Lee Pace.

I'll miss you all.

Farewell!

I haven't felt this much pain in a long time.

love

I want to be in love. I feel so lonely.
I study. I work. I make money. I try. I'm doing everything quite right. But I feel so lonely.

What is this feeling!
I have been watching shows and movies and read tons of things to take my mind away from the fact that I have been so lonely. But whatever I do, I still feel sad!

I hate being useless. And I'm not useless.

I really just need someone to love. I really just need someone to love me. I'm going to turn freaking twenty soon, without love.

And I have just popped "Miss Pettigrew lives for a day" into the dvd slot in my aluminum uni body macbook to forget the fact that I'm so alone.

Tenorboy. Lonely boy. Not loved.

today

I saw someone so cute today!

Oh no gosh no NO NO NO why frak no!!!!!

I must check my brain.
Yup.
Still there!

of all the thing in the world to be allergic of, I'm allergic to latex.
If I ever become a doctor, I will have to use vinyl glove!

and what a weird thing to blog about.

The United Culture of Bali

One of my souvenir T-shirt bought by an Indonesian friend from Bali was ruined today.

It was bought in Bali, brought to Singapore, brought to Vietnam, traveled to the States with me and now it's gone.

I feel like a part of me just died.

Farewell, T-shirt. I'm gonna miss you.

I think I'm a sentimental guy.

revive

This blog is seriously dead.
There is nothing interesting going on nowadays with my life.

But I'm buying a car in two months. Saving.

On American Idol 2009, I love Megan. She is so cute. I totally love her style.
The Matt guy is good this week too.
Anoop Desai is interesting. He's so down to earth and real.
Kris Allen is cute. Nice voice. Seems decent. But he is not that extraordinary.

I seriously can't stand Adam Lambert. His style is very disgusting, I think.
Danny Gokey is so preachy.

I felt like I'm on top of a hill, looking down on n the vast green valleys below, winds shuffling my hair, clouds tickle my ears... when I heard this song:

ACJC Arts Night 2009

I have just watched some art night performances on facebook and...

...WOW!!!!

I'm so impressed. Marcus Lye is awesome. His voice control is unbelievable.

Seems like the choir has many pros.

seriously

Oh my gee. American Idol is getting SOOOOOOOOOO bad and boring.
The top 3 people from the first group aren't even that good. They are such a snooze fest. My alarm clock can snooze better.

It's so bad that I have to crawl out of bed at 2:00 am and type this.
After which I'll take a shower.
And then go back to bed again.

And by the way, I'm starting college.

Don is weird.

crap post

Ok. I don't have much to say, I just need to post something on my blog cos it's like a ghost town in here.

I still haven't succeeded in sleeping properly.

So my short-term plan:
1) Sleep 8 hours a day.
2) Finish homework 1 week ahead of time.
3) Save money to buy my first car.

And that's it.

And oh my God oh my God, Marcia Gross is getting so beautiful, she's so statue-esque. What should I do what should I do. She must be the most stunning woman on earth.

So seriously. I don't have anything else to say. But I promise a more exciting entry soon.

I kissed a girl

Well, this post is about the song "I kissed a girl" by Katy Perry.

HAHA. This post is no way about me. Whether I ever kissed a girl or not it will never end up on this blog.

I found this really nice and cute version on youtube:

my targets for 2009

1) Save money to buy a car.
2) Study. Seriously.
3) Read more. I'm getting stupid-er.
4) Exercise. So that I can fit in Topman and Club Monaco clothes.
5) Try not to get angry with my parents whenever they quarrel.

And I hope I can achieve all of that!

about a day off

New Year has started! Woo hoo!

On Monday, the store behind mine closed for CNY celebration (they are Vietnamese-Chinese), and my store was still open (my boss is Vietnamese American) so we were very crowded. It was tiring handling the heavy traffic but I had so much fun. The customers were so polite and patient. I had a nice day, even though I was so tired at the end.

I have an issue, something fresh and new and terrifying. I think it's too complicated. So, I decided on Monday night to take Tuesday off to rest and clear up my head. Well, I did rest but I still can't clear up my head. Without work, I think. And when I think, I reflect. The more I reflect, the messier it gets. So lesson learn: I should have worked to avoid thinking. Work makes me forget about my issues.

From now on, I'll try to work more, and exercise more, and keep me busy more, so that I won't have to deal with what I have been worried about. And I hope that by and by, my feelings will be gone so that I'll be back to a normal person.

Change of topic. "How I met your mother" is a cute show. It's not as funny as friends but it's smarter and more endearing. And my favorite character is Barney Stinson. Lily is also a really sweet character.

Oprah is in trouble. I think so. She looks positively unhealthy these days.

I hate HBO dramas. They are so boring.

And I'm *cough* downloading *cough* episode 5 of American Eye Doll. I hope this episode is not as boring as the last four.

And I cannot think of anything else to blog about. I am getting so boring!

=D

I nearly went ice-skating today. But I did not. Cos I was supposed to go with two guys, and I think I wouldn't have fun ice-skating with two guys. So I did not go.

Plus, I don't know how to ice-skate. I don't even know how to roller-blade.

And that's it for today. Oh by the way, San Francisco's American Idol audition is SOOOO Boring. Isn't there any talent in the Bay Area, California?

And by the way, I live in San Jose, CA which is in the Bay Area. It's a twenty-minute ride from San Francisco.

And that's all for today.

random things

1) Thailand is a damn artsy place. I swear. I came across a clip from a show at a university in Thailand and gosh, they are so good. And that's just a show from a university. Interesting. I want to visit that country before I die.

2) I also want to visit France and Italy before I die. Cos they have amazing buildings and I want to look at the buildings.

3) I also want to visit London. Just for the accent and to see TOPMAN clothes in action. (topman is a british line, just so you know, haha)

4) I'm sleeping late.

5) Oops, britney is getting boring.

6) Obama has a really huge responsibility.

7) I found some acjc 2008 carolling clips. They are good. Awesome. But my favorite song "Follow that star" sounds bad. I hope one day I can meet my acjc choir friends. I miss them like crazy. But I think I won't know what to talk about when I meet them.

8) I'm getting more independent in my own life. I'm dealing with things myself. It's kinda sad but it's safer this way.

Love

Oh my goodness. The 100th episode of Desperate Housewives is so so awesome.
There's no tornado, no guns, no special effects like other seasons. It's just a simple storytelling episode...

... about love. And that's made all the difference. This episode is so touching and beautiful.

My mom watched the part about Lynette and Susan's flashback, and she cried, even though she doesn't understand English and I had to translate on the spot for her.

It's an absolutely beautiful episode.

life is a picnic

hello! I just came across something and it made my day. It's something about my classmate in Singapore.

Ok. My friend has a blog. And it's funny.

There's a lot of things I want to say but I don't know how to start. I was placed in an amazing class, really. There were a lot of characters, and laughter. On the first day I talked to a guy in the class, thinking that he was here 3 months before me and maybe he knows about the class and such blah blah. But it turned out the class had like 5 guys if I am not wrong. None of them know one another. And the girls are mostly new too. So the chemistry was kinda weird. There were so many backgrounds.

As time goes by, I find my class highly entertaining. And most importantly, they make me feel like I exist. They make me feel like I'm part of them. And that's cool. And that means a lot. Argh, how do I convey my thoughts without being sentimental? Hmm. I hope you know what I mean.

It was really fun to hang out with my friends during recess. Although I didn't really talk, listening to you all talking made me laugh so much. Really. I remember time in the canteen, in the Cafe, the LT, the LT3, etc... It was fun.

And one of the friend who always makes the people around her laugh is the one I mentioned in the first part of this very post. She's a good friend. She's also cca friend. And even though I studied with her one whole year, I don't think I had the chance to get to know her. I am a bad friend, aren't I!

I was so indulged in my own problems that I forget about nearly everything else, my study, my friends, my roomate, my goals, my future... I was such a worthless thing in 2007. I am still mad at myself for being such a nonsense, a drippy, pessimistic, weak trainwreck back then.

I reflect a lot. I am that type. And all the things I did in 2007 were wrong. The person I was in 2007 was useless.

I just hope that I can fix 2007. And I hope I would get another chance to know my class. They are so nice to me I think. I am still very thankful for that.

I might be a different person now. I'm more sane. I think I am starting to piece my life together. I have a better outlook. I am a little more optimistic. And I hope I will be fine.

I suddenly hate anything that reminds me of my former self. The scars on my arms, my long fringe... I am not an emo anymore, I have just got rid of my fringe. My hair is short and neat now, even though I look so ugly in it. But that's fine, I have never been cute anyway. Haha! I hope the scars will be gone soon. It's still visible on my left arm. That's scary.

I write this post to tell my friends that I love them. Yes, I love you as a friend. Thank you so much for being a good friend. I also write this post to get some kind of closure. I have been reflecting about my year 2007 and I just need some closure.

And if I have caused you any problems during that year, I am so sorry. I really am.

American Idol

American Idol is back. WOOHOO. I love watching American Idol. The first episode is funny. Entertaining. The new judge is good and promising. She's kinda pretty I think.

On a different but quite related note, Vietnam Idol just crowned this guy. He has a decent voice, a decent personality and a decent look. But I am not crazy about this guy. He's quite ordinary, there's nothing so special about him.

He will represent Vietnam in Asian Idol 2009 and I hope he will do a good job. I hope he will at least sing English songs with a decent pronunciation.

:D

update

I really want to blog but there's nothing much to blog about these days.

The good thing is my life has less drama now. But the bad thing is everyday is nearly the same as another, it's kinda boring. Anyway, I'm thankful to have a more peaceful life.

I have just bought a Dell computer for my parents. It's kinda kick-ass. All I have to do now is pay back for my credit card when the bank statement come.

My goals:
1) Save money to buy a car.
2) Record more songs.

And I hope I can achieve these two goals. It sounds easy but it's hard for me because I'm such a spendthrift.

Desperate Housewives is a really well-written show. I like it. It's funny.

I hope Josh Groban, Jason Mraz and Corrinne May will release new CDs soon.

...

And I'm out.

a new year

Let's start this year with this verse. And HAPPY NEW YEAR :D

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
1 Chorintians 13:4-8

I want to see this, live!

This is probably one of the most awesome thing I've ever seen. By the way, I like the fountain at Raffles Shopping Center too, I think it's cute.

This is waterfall "Printer", a waterfall installation located in the Canal City Hakata shopping complex in Fukuoka, Japan. It can form intricate patters using water sprayed from hundreds of nozzles that are precisely controlled by computers. See for yourself. It's amazing.

back to blogging

Hello world!

First of all, Merry Christmas to you :D

I'm back. Ok, I've never gone anywhere but I just really don't know what to write down here. My recent blog entries are so boring and tasteless.

I feel like I'm becoming increasingly stupid. Either that or I don't care about politics, economics, the US economy crisis, finance, the 401k, the bailout, tax return, health care. Maybe both. Maybe I'm both indifferent to those issues and I'm becoming more stupid. Heh.

Anyway, I'm trying to keep myself 'smart' these days by reading Times, Details, GQ, Esquire, Wired, Entertainment Weekly, US Weekly, MacWorld, MacLife, and I've just subscribed to Vanity Fair. I used to subscribe to People magazine but I've stopped, I can get what they write in there for free, and that magazine is useless.

This year, my Christmas is weird. It doesn't suck, but it is definitely not fantastic. It's just like any other day to me. Anyway, there's something that makes me really happy, although only for a short time, but it's too personal to write down here.

I have planned for my studies. It's going to be easy, but it's going to be long. The good part is I can set my pace, and the not so good part is there are still many things to finalized. Anyway, it's quite fun to study again.

I think I used "anyway" too much. And my writing style is deteriorating. It lacks varieties and wordplay and structures.

Everyone has someone for Christmas. Not me.

And that concludes this post.

Again, merry merry christmas people :D

love, don =]

Lee Pace

I think Lee Pace is unbelievable.

I was shocked, surprised, intrigued, and totally awed by his acting. It's too good.

coughing

Hello world!
Nod here!

I'm down with coughing these few days!
And I'm going to work in a few hours, hope I can pull through that!
Please pray for me :D

I'm taking a cough syrup that's 3.5% alcoholic! Woohoo!
Anyway, I'm not an alcohol addict. But I really like the way my whole body warm up when alcohol enters me. It's like having fireworks in your spine.

---------

Desperate Housewives Episode 10 of season 5 is so enjoyable. Good storyline, funny, touching, interesting, all the right factors of a good episode. The gay storyline is freaking funny.

However, the lesbian storyline in Grey's Anatomy is so awkward. I feel that they just anyhow squeeze in that theme in Greys to please the LGBT community without putting much thoughts to it. The whole thing is just so under-developed and annoying. Urgh.

And bad news, Pushing Daisies will be cancelled. I think whoever makes that decision is INCREDIBLY stupid. Like upside down, inside out, top to bottom, in-and-out STUPID. Pushing Daisies is a gem of a show, it's so unique and so beautiful and so so so so romantic. Why would they cancel that???

And I have nothing else to write about.
Goodness, I'm so boring.

things that happened today

Hello world, it's me!

Today is weird.

When I went to the train, P smsed me about Thai steamboat at night.
But I had to work at downtown until 6.
So she told me she will pick me up at 6.
A little later T left a message on my phone, telling me that she would pick me up.

AND then the girl who worked with me on Monday called in busy and I had to cover her shift until 9.

SO, I can't go for the outing, and I had to work alone, for 7 hours.
Today is quite a waste.

No Thai steamboat. I can't meet anyone.
The upside is, my customers were really nice today. They tipped a lot.

:D

I had a major depression attack last week, after a birthday party.
I felt like it was all meaningless and I wanted to hurt myself. I lost all purposes.

And I'm proud to say that my depression attack is OVER. I'm back to normal. I don't know really know when but it kind of just went away. Woo hoo.

Anyway, it's quite scary because I haven't been depressed in a really long time. I don't feel sad that often nowadays. So it's scary when depression comes back.

Maybe because I never had a proper birthday celebration. By the way, my birthday this year maybe the worst ever. It sucks. August the first 2008 Sucks with a capital S.

All that aside, it just feels so great to be up and running again.

:D
P.S. By the way, this year, so far, I'm medication-free. Yay!

hello Britney

Hey Britney, you are still gorgeous :D

television

Smallville is getting really good these days. The storylines are more interesting. The directing, the filming, everything is getting more innovative...

Ah, screw it. It's getting good because KRISTIN KREUK is BACK.
Only for one episode though. Boy, she looks quite different, but still gorgeous.

Anyway, still, Smallville is getting good.

On a different note, Pushing Daisies is the most romantic, beautiful, best best best best show on earth. It is SO beautiful. And the soundtracks of the series are the best ever, they are all orchestral music. It's an absolutely perfect show.

And I am such a loser to burn my life in these shows.

But who cares :D
I love television. It's a haven for creativity and a perfect hideout from the boring day-to-day life.

By the way, I like Tina Fey. She's unique.

I think my posts are getting so disconnected these days.

:D

update

Pushing Daisies is the best show on earth.
Desperate Housewives is getting so boring.
And Heroes is getting seriously disgusting and lengthy and pointless.
Gossip Girl is a yawn fest.

David Archuleta's album is bad.
Taylor Swift's album is cute.
Beyonce's album is fierce and really catchy. She's so pretty.

And I think I should not love anyone. I'm not good with that. Never was and never will be.

But the person is too perfect.

PLEASE VOTE

Hey everyone, please vote for the new president!

If I were a US citizen, I would totally vote.

And my choice would be OBAMA. I would like to bring the US army back home safely. I would vote for OBAMA because he is the HOPE. I would vote for OBAMA because he would bring PEACE. I would vote for BARACK OBAMA because he is a true American. I would vote for BARACK OBAMA because he loves America.

And most importantly, I would vote for OBAMA because he is a dad, a husband, an african-american, and he CARES for you and me.

=D

So please Vote!

By the way, this video is totally awesome. You meet ALL THE STARS you can think of in this photo. It's so funny, even though it's an appeal to vote.

tv shows

Have you watched "Gossip Girls"?

I think it's trash. Actresses are mumbling the whole way through. Chuck Bass is supposed to be a womanizer but he is SO NOT hot. The storyline is bumpy and slow and uninteresting. Relationships in that show is oh-no. I don't even know what's the point of the show.

The only good thing about the show is the fashion. The clothes are impeccable, except for Chuck Bass's clothing (which is trashy).

Why isn't it canceled yet?

hello world

I hate the fact that I lost my birthday database. Well, I don't know what's that really call but by "birthday database" I mean the entire calendar with everyone's birthday on it.

I think one of the my close friends is mad at me. And I really don't know why. Please forgive me/ talk to me if it's bugging you, give me a chance to know what I did wrongly!

I had a bad day today. I had a headache. And I hate it when that happens.

But I really am thankful for what God has blessed me. I really am!

I miss my friends......

life is short

I am suddenly struck by reality!

I only have around 40 years with my parents!
I only have around 50 more years to live!
I really don't want to think how many years my grandma will still be there to answer my calls whenever I call her!

I only have around 40 years to show appreciation, love and care for my parents!
And I think I should do that early. Now.

I have been wasting too much time focusing about myself!!!!

When I think that I have 50 more years to live. I think that's so freaking long.
But to think that I have only 40 years to see my parents around, I think that's a REALLY short time.

Time seems so short when you want to be around the people you love, doesn't it!

And that's why my last year in Singapore seemed like a second. There were so many friends I came to know and love. But it all happened so fast, I left without a proper goodbye, even to the friends at the airport.

And I really don't want to say farewell to anyone ever again.

and I'm sorry, I love you, my friends!

I'm really hard to please

Ok. I have just realized that you know. Like seriously.

You know. When I look at everyone's photos, their eyes are ALWAYS reduced to a thin line whenever they smile, especially in candid photos. That means they are truly happy.

But not me. In photos, my eyes are always open. And when I try to smile (when I'm actually not happy inside), my eyes are always open.

But then, sometimes when something that was really funny cracked me up, I laughed myself off and I cannot see anything.

SO. It means when I'm really happy, my eyes do reduce to a thin line.

And which means, most of the time, I just pretend to be happy. Like fake laugh. Posed laugh. And then I check myself in reality. It turns out to be true. Whenever I laugh with a customer. It is ALWAYS fake. I just tried to be cheerful, light their days up, set an upbeat note. But that's it. All is customer service, all is fake.

And yah, I am not easily amused.

And when I think back of my entire 3 years in Singapore. I can only remember 3 incidents in which I was truly happy, and amused, and I guess my eyes were reduced to a thin line during these three events:
1) When the cockroach flew into my room. It was a really fun incident which I remember the most in my three year of hostel life.
2) Whenever Nicole talks.
3) Whenever a particular choir girl talks. I don't know her personally and I don't talk to her much so I cannot reveal her name here. But she is small, and her mannerism is really funny. She's real friendly too.

But that's about it. I cannot remember anything that's so funny that has happened to me.

Only Ellen DeGeneres can really crack me up. She is REALLY funny. And my eyes reduce to a thin line whenever I watch her show. Cos that's when I truly laugh.

I really hope I can be more upbeat/easier to please. I want to be a person whose eyes are small in photographs. I want to truly laugh all the time.

I want to be true. I don't want to force myself. I don't want to fake.

And I don't want to be so lonely!

"There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread."
- Mother Theresa

and yah, I agree.

a post like no other

photo art by Alberich Mathews

I'll start this post with two words: "sperm" and "egg".

Strange?

Yes, it is. But suddenly, I have this thought running in my head, and I must write it out.

Let's start.

And I'll start with names: Thomas Edison, Leonardo Da Vinci, Marie Curie, Newton, Albert Einstein,...

some more names: Jason Mraz, Corrinne May, Josh Groban,...

and even more names: Barack Obama, John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Lee Kuan Yew, Jazques Chirac,...

of course, more names: Britney, Paris Hilton, The Jonas Brothers,...

and, there things: iPods, cell phones, Playstation, LAPTOP, Clothes,...

And what do all of these have in common?
_ They are human and they are creations by human.

And where do human come from, where is each of these people mentioned above come from?
_ A SINGLE SPERM AND EGG.

I suddenly find this very intriguing. Sperm is very small, well, I don't read bio anymore so I don't know the exact size and I don't bother wiki it, but well, it IS VERY SMALL. Egg is bigger than sperm, but it is still small, I think.

And to think that after fertilization, and after a long time, it will become human, it will grow into a teenager, an adult, an elderly, with many many events and milestones along the way. I find that amazing.

Isn't it amazing?

So basically, great people like Albert Einstein started out just like anyone of us. From the fertilization of a sperm and an egg. And the minuscule fetus grew with time, become a man, and a legend.

And I suddenly find that life is such a gift. Really, with time, something that is SO small become SOMETHING that is so precious, so larger than life.

It's like I was just a tiny piece of sand 19 years ago. Now, I have eyes, a nose, ears, hair, mouth, a body, a BRAIN, a beating heart,... And to think that just 19 years ago, I was NOTHING, I was TINY.

Suddenly, I find that the creation of a human being is so GROUNDBREAKING. Really.

Well, on a smaller scale, let's think about a flower. One morning, it was just a plant in front of your house. After that, you are like "Hey, there are buds!" And before you can realise, there are beautiful roses in your front yard.

And all of that started with pollen grains and, I want to say egg?. Haha, I really forgot my bio stuff.

So, the whole of this post is, I find LIFE is an amazing process. Life experience is a different story, more often ugly than beautiful, at least for me.

But anyway, I suddenly start to appreciate my life more. I have grown from practically nothing to a 19 year old person.

And I think that is something that I really need to TREASURE.

Thank you God for my life!

materialism

I was thinking of getting a new phone. I was torn between two choices:
1) LG Prada Phone
2) Nokia E71

But then, I realised I had been saving to buy a car. And a car is more crucial cos that's how I can go from home to college next year. And who knows, from home to the mall, from home to KFC, from home to gf's place.

Nah, scrap the last part. I'm not interested in a relationship. And even if I am, nobody would care about me anyway. But hey, at least I would have a car. HAHAHAH! And yah, I believe there maybe some genuine people who can understand and befriend me!

I'm excited about going to college next year!

And back to the phone issue. I already have 2. It makes no sense to get a third one.

Note to self: MUST NOT BUY A NEW PHONE. MUST SAVE MONEY.

Sigh. Me trying to save money is like Paris Hilton trying not to be stupid. I'm quite a spendthrift. I must control myself.

nonsense ramblings

I have nothing to post about. So I'll post random things that are going through my head right now.

1. I'm drinking water.
2. Straight guys are actually lesbians, and straight girls are actually gays. They do have common interests, don't they?
3. There is no cockroach in my room.
4. I hope there will be no cockroaches in my room.
5. "Oops, I did it again" is a song by Britney Spears.
6. My name is Don.
7. My surname is Nguyen.
8. Josh Groban is not my name.
9. I like Josh Groban. I like Jason Mraz too but I'm scared of him. And I sure love Corrinne May.
10. I don't have a dog.
11. I'm still drinking water.
12. and blogging, obviously.
13. Uh, this point is unlucky, so I'll go on to point 14.
14. Well, technically, this is the 13th rambling, but as I put the number 14 at the beginning. This point is not unlucky. This point is lucky.
15. Hah, I don't have a 15th point.

The end -

P.S. I love my dog, even though I don't have one.

a rush a adrenaline, and a real-life love story

Ok, let me tell you about what has JUST happened.

I was watching Desperate Housewife on my laptop, then SUDDENLY, a really disgusting spider with red and white legs crawled down the wall. I dashed to the toilet to grab some toilet paper to catch it.

When I came back to my room, I realised: "Oh no! It's too disgusting! If I cannot catch it successfully and it fells onto my hand, how am I supposed to eat M&M chocolate later???"

So, I immediately thought of getting the insect spray. But then by the time I came back, the spider would have gone away.

"I need a spray, I need a spray!" - I thought.

And there it was, I saw my hair spray. It was just right there.

So.

I grabbed my TRESemmé tres two european hair spray ultra fine mist professional formula net wt 11 oz (312 g), and SPRAY ON THE DAMN EIGHT-LEGGED THING.

I sprayed on it. It slowed down. I sprayed some more, it slowed down some more. AND THEN I sprayed some more, it slowed down EVEN more.

And then I sprayed it EVEN more, and it shrunk into a ball. And obviously, immobile. And then I scooped it with my layered toilet paper, and flushed it down the toilet bowl, where the toilet paper should go.

And that's how I got a rush of adrenaline.

so lessons learn:
1. Don doesn't like insects.
2. Hairspray can be used to spray on other things other than hair.
3. Insects spray are not always available when you REALLY need.
4. Hair spray can be used for defense (spray in the eyes of stalkers).
5. Don't use deodorant spray to kill insects cos that's a waste.
6. Don cannot think of a sixth lesson from this love story.
7. Don doesn't like insects.
8. Don hates insects.
9. Desperate Housewife is interesting. Seriously.

and this is the end of a love story that actually happened in real life.

Don's GROUNDBREAKING realisation

well, it's about Harry Potter.

You know what, people died in Harry Potter. Lily, James Potter, Dumbledore, Sirius,...

You know what, in "The Prisoner of Azkaban", there is a time-turner, isn't there! Hermione got it to get through classes, AT ONCE.

So do you get the picture yet?

Here goes, people can use the time-turner to go back in time to save all those people, to kill Voldermort, maybe kill some spiders, snakes, go to the zoo, sleep on a couch, drink purified water, burn alcohol,...

wait, I digressed, sorry.

anyway, if the time-turner had been used, then there would be no death, there would be no conflict, there would be no Voldermort, there would be no Harry Potter the boy who lived, there would be no books, there would be no sales, and J.K.Rowling would not be so SO SO SO RIIIICHH.

So, the point of this post, is: J.K.Rowling is REALLY REALLY smart.

the end.

just a flashback

To everyone who has been talking to me via the tagboard, I'm SO SORRY that I haven't been replying you. I'm SO SORRY. I'll reply soon.

I suddenly have a flashback on my acjc days. Nothing much. But it hurts me. And I don't know why!

The thing is, everyday, in the NUS high school residence. I would woke up at five fifty, or six. I would take a REALLY long time to shower, and brush my teeth, and then wrap my body in something and then change into my acjc uniform. And then I would put on my contact lenses. And then I would grab one of the three bags (retro black, faux leather, or black zinc - depending on my mood) that I had put all the books/files in the day before. Then I would put on my socks, which I would usually struggle to find a pair that would match.

And then I would say bye to my roomate. Which I really cannot remember what I usually said anymore. Was it "bye nat!", or "hey, bye!", or "i'm going first, bye!", or simply leave and lock the room if my roomate had already left.

Then I would go out to wait for the elevator. Three things may happen:
1. It opens and I go down to the ground floor.
2. It opens, I meet ...., I feel really awkward, and answer everything .... asks until I reach the ground floor. I'm really sorry, .... It should not be this way, it was all my fault.
3. The lift is so SO slow. And I ran down the stairs.

If I was early, I would eat at the canteen. Or I would skip breakfast and the run to the bus.

Once I reach the bus, I would fight my way in, and FIGHT to get upstair, sit at somewhere near the front, where losers such as me usually sit. Cool people usually sit at the back, I was afraid I would stain their cool air.

And I Had to tolerate lousy music from other people's phone the whole time.

And I would text "Good morning, PJ" to PJ.

Once the bus stop, I would ran to school, cos I was always late. I would run through path next to the contruction site of the performing arts building, the one that I had dreamed of seeing it completed.

along the hallway, I would try to avoid as many people I know as possible until I reach the choir seats.

And I would sing with my choir mates, the only thing that I really loved doing during the day.

But that is to painful to reflect on, so I'll fast forward.

I would be in lessons, I hate chem, I love bio, I loathe econs, I don't really like maths but I try because the teacher is extremely understanding, I like GP cos the teacher is so funny but I hate the content most of the time. I don't really care about PE but it's SO FUN. I don't like PW cos the teacher is evil.

When recess comes, I would either sleep in the library, eat alone in the canteen during mother tongue, or with my classmates when it's not mother tongue.

and then,...

I love the milo stall I love the chick and pig stall.

I love how the porridge tastes so good when I was having gastric.

And I love that sometimes, people noticed that I existed.

Anyway, I just suddenly remembered what usually happened during a normal school day. And I feel painful. It reminded how much of a loser and loner I am.

But I really miss those moments. Cos that just proves that I am me.

right now, I really miss and cherish the short year I had in acjc.

Life is sarcastic. I hated school, until I'm out of it.

It's so painful to think back about last year. I hated it, but I miss it so much. I was so lonely, I was a loser and somehow, a few people still genuinely cared for me. Somehow, a few people even talked to me, and became my really great friends.

I miss my friends, so much.
And I hope you all are doing well.

I miss my friends. So much.

FUNNIEST THING EVER

Well, meet Fred!

Anyway, that's not his real name. This guy is 14 and he's such a talented comedian. YOU MUST WATCH THIS.

And yes, he did this himself, and he talks THAT fast.
